Garlicky Grains with Asparagus & Sausage -- back to top
Meredith made Garlicky Grains with Asparagus & Sausage [What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking] with quinoa, following pretty close to the recipe. She used the frozen garlic cubes to be even easier. And no parsley. She also followed the suggestion of serving it in parts for the kids.
We really liked this. The kids, not so much.
Barbie Birthday Cake -- back to top
This was Caroline's Birthday cake. Based on Strawberry Lemonade Cake with Sweet and Tart Lemon Curd Filling [Cake by Courtney] with:
And the lemon curd from the big "pink book" (recipe to be added later)
She also made rice crispie treats to turn into the ring for Barbie.
Tea Party with Zucchini Melts -- back to top
Friday Tea Party. The main food was Zucchini Melts (Zucchini Grilled Cheese) [The Kitchn]. The kids were uncertain but I thought these were amazing! I really liked them and would do it again in a heartbeat. Also some Trader Joes Brazilian Cheese Bread.
Crispy Tofu Two Ways -- back to top
Crispy Miso Lime Tofu [What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking] and then the same idea but with Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki (or maybe the Trader Joes' version)
Regular and Scarpaccia Pizza -- back to top
Scarpaccia Zucchini Tart [Plant You] for some of the pizza. We drained and separated it then it was in the fridge for two days. Meredith had more trouble spreading it. In the future, she'll let it warm up first if we have to cook it like this again.
Tortellini and Garlicky Grains -- back to top
A version of Garlicky Grains with Asparagus & Sausage [What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking] but without grains and with tortellini instead.
Tea Party with Sheet Pan Sliders -- back to top
Sheet Pan Sliders [What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking]
Chocolate Cupcakes -- back to top
Meredith made these to bring to Emily's house for Labor Day. She used her normal chocolate cake recipe (just the cake part) and frostings leftover from the Barbie Birthday Cake
