Pumpkin 🎃 Cake 🎂 with Brown-Butter Frosting

Meredith made a Pumpkin Cake with Brown Butter Frosting. The cake was the same pumpkin cake^[@rev] we used in 2017^[@rev].

The brown butter buttercream came from Two Sisters Crafting (LOCAL^[@rev]). Meredith's notes:

Used unsalted butter and added 1/4 tsp of salt
Browned the butter using Joy The Baker (LOCAL^[@rev])
Used Half and Half instead of milk and about a 1/4 cup to get the right consistency. (Maybe the brown butter was more solid than it was supposed to be? Or didn't use enough as noted below?).

- Out of curiosity, why use evaporated milk and then add water?
Later realized that Meredith did half a stick of brown butter, not a full one. This may be why she had issues with the consistency

The topping was done with some homemade stencils she did using the Cricut

It was really good and we really liked the brown butter frosting. The cake when eaten alone was also very good though it didn't stand up very well to the frosting. Meredith may use this frosting for something like a chocolate cake that can stand up better.
