From Dad's Book, page 10

1-1/2 cups flour
1 cup quick oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tbsp dark molasses
1-1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs

Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour baking pan, 13x9x2. Measure all ingrediants into large mixing bowl. Blend 1/2 a minute at low speed scraping bowl constantly. Beat 3 minutes at high speed scraping occassionally. Pour into pan. Bake 35049 minutes or til it tests done. Cool slightly. Spread topping on cake. Broil 3in from heat til topping is bubbly and golden brown. Watch carefully - Mixture burns easily.
