This was an experiment is oven-baking tawook[@rev]. My least favorite part of tawook is the skewers so this was to see if we could avoid it. I also wanted to try well-trimmed thigh.
I combined all of the ingredients in the oven-safe dish and added the chicken directly. I then baked it at 375°F the next day for 40 min or so.
It was fine...Not amazing or even that good but...FINE. I liked that I didn't have to skewer but it was not really worth it otherwise. Maybe if I par-cooked it and finished it on a pan to get some crispyness?
