I made the regular taco stew[@rev] with a few minor changes but they added up to a lot of flavor. They were to add some seasonings like chipotle powder and smoked paprika. And to add some soy sauce for an umami kick. Both of these are now reflected on my recipe book version. My changes were
Added chopped cabbage
Extra zucchini
Used extra salsa (by accident. It was really good so I added the note on the recipe)
Added soy sauce
used half canola oil and half bacon fat
Added chipotle powder and smoked paprika
Used stewed tomatoes (by accident but they were good)
Heavy on the Better Than Bouillon (maybe too heavy)
This was probably one of the best versions. It had a long simmer and some (most) with the lid off to thicken it. (I noted this in the recipe as well)
(This is a rough guess but it's the best I could get)
